Ceramic fluid metering pump working principle
2026-05-10 13:46:32 View:2Ceramic Fluid Metering Pump Working Principle
A ceramic fluid metering pump is a high-precision volumetric dosing device that uses precision ceramic components as its core friction pair. It realizes quantitative liquid transmission through mechanical motion, with extremely high accuracy, corrosion resistance, and stability.
Core Structure
The key components include ceramic plunger, ceramic sleeve, pump body, sealing system, inlet and outlet channels, and driving mechanism. High-performance zirconia and alumina ceramics ensure ultra-high precision, wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
Basic Working Principle
As a typical volumetric pump, the ceramic fluid metering pump changes the internal volume of the pump chamber periodically through mechanical reciprocating movement to complete liquid suction and discharge. Each cycle outputs a fixed volume of liquid to guarantee high dosing precision.
Suction Stroke
When the ceramic plunger moves backward, the volume inside the pump chamber increases and pressure decreases, forming negative pressure. The inlet valve opens and liquid is inhaled into the pump chamber, while the outlet valve stays closed to avoid backflow.
Discharge Stroke
When the ceramic plunger moves forward, the pump chamber volume decreases and pressure rises rapidly. The inlet valve closes and the outlet valve opens, pushing the liquid out quantitatively to finish one dosing cycle.
Precision Metering Principle
The output flow is determined by plunger diameter, stroke length and reciprocating frequency. Micron-level ceramic processing ensures extremely small volume error per stroke, so the metering accuracy can reach ±0.1%.
Valveless Structure Working Principle
Valveless ceramic metering pumps use a rotating ceramic rotor to change flow channel direction instead of spring valves. It achieves suction and discharge without valves, featuring no wear, no blockage, no leakage and longer service life.
Material Advantages
Ceramic materials have high smoothness, high hardness, corrosion resistance and zero metal ion precipitation. Low friction and good sealing ensure no liquid contamination during operation, widely used in pharmaceutical, battery, chemical and other high-demand fields.
